Play Dates with Shaving Cream

boogie bear

Play dates can be tough sometimes, especially if your munchkin has a lot of munchkin friends… but we found the ultimate play date for your little one and their buddies! It is filled with colors, textures, and creativity! Your toddler will have an absolutely blast and you will be able to enjoy it with them stress-free!

Play dates are at the top of the list in terms of toddler sensory activities! So we are going to help you host a messy shaving cream play date, first your going to need some supplies.

Supplies:

> Shaving cream

> Water

> Liquid watercolor paint and/or food coloring

> Kool Aid

> Baking Soda

> Squeeze bottles

> Paint brushes or foam brushes

> Butcher Paper

> Ice cube trays

When the kiddies arrive, have the shaving cream paint set up and ready to go, make sure you cover a table/picnic table with butcher paper and mix up a batch of the two ingredient quick paint recipe using shaving cream and water colors. (food coloring or tempura paint may be used as a substitute, however food colors will temporarily stain skin)

Quick Paint Recipe:

> Paint

> Shaving cream

> Glitter

> Foam Brushes

> Squirt shaving cream into small container, then add washable paint/food coloring/of liquid watercolor paints and top with glitter.

Have the little ones being painting on the butcher paper that lays on the picnic table, in the meantime set out a bucket of shaving cream and Kool Aid (cover the bottom of the sensory bin with shaving cream and sprinkle it with Kool Aid powder) for some additional fun sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on top of the shaving cream and cover the mix with Kool Aid.

After all of toddlers play with the mix a while, pull out the squeeze bottles and let the kiddies spray the shaving cream mix. This will produce a fun mixture of foaming bubbles. Vinegar is not needed, however you can add it to the water in the squeeze bottles for a bigger reaction.  Its easy, creative, and such a blast! You will enjoy watching and your munchkins imagination will enjoy creating with vibrant colors.

Hope you and your mini have fun.
